Today we are looking back at monumental events to mark our fourth year of being the UK’s biggest celebration for gender diversity!

Since June 2017, NPW Podcast has brought you no holds barred discussions on the biggest issues that affect our careers and lives. Hosted by BBC Radio 5’s Sam Walker, we have 21 (at the moment) live podcasts and nearly 12,000 downloads. Recorded in many cities across the north – Lancaster, Leeds, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Teesside, Liverpool, Manchester – NPW Podcast has heard 20+ senior leaders and change makers shared career stories, and 200+ NPW supporters have passed on their advice in “Ask the Hive.”

In the Queen’s Birthday honours list 2018, Northern Power Women Founder Simone Roche was honoured with an MBE for her services to gender equality. The award is recognition of Simone’s dedication and commitment to driving gender equality through her work for over a decade.

Northern Power Futures Manchester welcomed over 1700 visitors for a two-day festival with speakers, panels, workshops influencing the economy, technology, workplace culture, lifestyle, wellbeing and business, designed to inspire and super power the wide-ranging delegates towards a greater working life and career in the North. This year saw Northern Power Futures take over Newcastle with 7 million impressions on Twitter!

From the backend of 2018, NPW have partnered with some amazing organisations to further our message for accelerating gender equality and diversity. This year we announced our 2019 Future List and Power List, featuring 100 more inspirational women from a wide range of careers, backgrounds and organisations adding to our list of 450 Role Models.
Next Monday will see the fourth annual Northern Power Women Awards, with 908 nominations (421 North West, 12 North Wales, 305 Yorkshire and 170 North East). It’s going to be an amazing night celebrating the individuals and organisations that have made an impact in the North.
If there’s anything this past four years have proved it is we can make a difference and we’re making it from the North!
