Alison is a Solicitor and Managing Partner of Morecrofts LLP, a long established multi-service firm with six offices within the Liverpool City Region. Alison started as a litigation solicitor with the firm in 1999 and worked her way up, embracing opportunities for involvement and training and becoming Managing Partner in 2014.Alison was proud to be named on the first Power List in 2016, the year she was President of Liverpool Law Society. She has won and been shortlisted for various business awards, including most recently the amazing honour of being named Woman Solicitor of the Year 2019 by the Law Society of England and Wales, as well as “Legal Personality of the Year” in Liverpool.Alison, and Morecrofts are long term supporters of the Northern Power Women network. The firm itself has long been female dominated in terms of ownership and management, bucking the national trend in a profession where women generally struggle to reach senior levels.
I was flattered and honoured to be asked to judge these awards which are highly prestigious and recognised across the North and beyond. I am looking forward to learning more about those nominated and being inspired by so many incredible women and their stories.
I am keen to learn more about how the nominees reached their positions and how they overcame barriers along the way, both the learn from their efforts and also that I can help others avoid facing those problems, and support other women to succeed.
I am supporting Northern Power Women because I feel very strongly that the power of role models is the key to enable the next generation of Women leaders to grow and thrive. Having been lucky to benefit from strong female role models myself, I want to help create the next cohort and give them a platform to inspire, support and motivate women at all levels to reach their potential and be the best they can be.
