Angela Seeney is Transformation Director at Sellafield Ltd, leading the enterprise-wide changes needed to support and enhance the organisation’s mission change from reprocessing to environmental restoration. This also includes pioneering changes to enhance all aspects of performance, and prospects, at Sellafield Ltd and for its staff, supply chain partners, stakeholders and the broader community to the benefit of UK plc.
She joined Sellafield Ltd in early 2017 from the Oil and Gas Authority, the organisation that regulates and promotes the UK gas and oil industry, where she was Director of Technical, Decommissioning, Supply Chain and Data. In this role, she focused on the economic recovery of the UK’s oil and gas resources in the North Sea. Previously, Angela spent 28 years with Shell, driving business transformations that yielded multi-billion pound returns on investment and, latterly, transforming its market proposition on alternative energy solutions.
Angela gained her Doctorate in Corrosion Science at Birmingham University and became the UK’s first female graduate apprentice with industry sponsorship by the Engineering and Industrial Training Board. In 2016 she was named one of the 50 most influential women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics by the Women’s’ Engineering Society. Angela was appointed as a member of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership Board in 2018.
